BACKDATE PROJECT W/ VARIORAM 993 3.6L
HCC is pleased to offer this 1975 Porsche 911 Backdate project for the enthusiast seeking the opportunity to sort and personalize a backdated 911 with a strong base. This car started life as a 1975 Porsche 911, but has since been backdated to mimic the look of a long hood early 911. At the same time, it was repainted in a shade of blue reminiscent of Porsche's Riviera Blue. The factory 2.7L flat six was replaced by a 3.6L flat six out of a 1997 (993) 911. The factory 5-speed (915 type) manual transmission was retained though the shift assembly has been replaced by an aftermarket unit. Both radio and all climate control (other than a defroster) have been removed.
While it runs, drives, and both engine and transmission feel strong, there are a number of mechanical and cosmetic issues that should be addressed prior to any real use. We have had our air cooled mechanics look the car over with a fine-toothed comb and have assembled a list of both issues and recommended changes. We are happy to share the full list with interested buyers. Because of the items needing to be addressed, this car is best suited for a mechanically-inclined buyer with air-cooled Porsche experience.
This 911 "Backdate" project is offered as-is with a clean Texas title.
