13K MILE 964 AMERICA ROADSTER; 1 OF 250 MADE
HCC is proud to present this collector-grade 1993 Porsche 911 America Roadster. Showing just under 13k miles, it features a Black (A1) exterior over a full leather light grey and black two-tone interior. Factory equipped options include the aforementioned full leather interior, a limited slip differential, power seats, supple leather seats, and AM/FM radio with CD player. In total, MSRP as delivered to Paul Miller Porsche in New Jersey was $95,503, as can be seen in the original window sticker in the documents section.
Based on a Carrera 2 Cabriolet, the America Roadster was a Turbo-Look special edition produced exclusively for the US market. With only 250 units produced, it is one of the rarer special editions produced by Porsche. Like prior Turbo-Look 911s, it features the wider fenders, upgraded suspension, larger brakes, and bespoke wheels off of the 911 Turbo while retaining the 3.6L naturally aspirated flat-6 of the Carrera. Unlike the US-specification 964 WTL (Works Turbo Look) coupes, which were based on the Carrera 4 and therefore all wheel drive, the America Roadster was based on the Carrera 2 and was rear wheel drive only.
The name America Roadster (as well as the release date of 1992) is a tribute to the 40th anniversary of the 1952 356 America Roadster, which was a US-only lightweight, race-prepped model built by Porsche at the request of famed Porsche imported Max Hoffman. Only 17 of the 1952 America Roadsters were built, but it served as proof of concept for the iconic 356 Speedster, which would be released just two years later.
This particular example was delivered new to New Jersey and Carfax shows subsequent registration in Ohio, Montana, and Texas.
This time-capsule America Roadster is offered fully serviced with a clean Carfax and clean title.
